Textbook Review

The Poquoson City School Division purchases instructional materials to support the curriculum and instruction that occurs in the classrooms. The school division involves teachers and other instructional staff members in the selection of the materials. The materials are also made available for public review. The School Board approves the recommended materials prior to the purchase of them.

Currently, PHS is considering World History for purchase to support their classes, "World History and Geography to 1500 AD.." and "Pre-AP World History I."

The textbook/resource is online only, and you will need to request preview access from the publisher. An email will be sent to you with temporary login access (be sure to check your junk email!).

The access you will be granted covers all world history, but we are only looking to possibly purchase the portion "up to 1500 A.D."

To help narrow your review, it is suggested to narrow the content on the publisher's website. We are assured by the publisher that the final view to teachers/staff will be more streamlined and will only show the requested content. What you will see is only the preview format.

Precalculus: Graphical, Numerical, and Algebraic (AP Edition)

Currently, PHS is considering Precalculus: Graphical, Numerical, and Algebraic (AP Edition), by the publisher SAVVAS, for purchase to support their class, "AP Pre-Calculus."

A sample is provided in the School Board Office Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm (from not until June 7) and Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-4:00pm (from June 10 onward).
